Trip
to China: Experience that Benefits the Whole Life
The article issued
here is a talk of Bush, ex-president of U.S.A., when met with
Wang Xiaopeng, senior consultant of this publication and vice
president of the Council for the Promotion of Overseas Chinese
International Culture Exchange. Bush used to be director of the
liaison office of the United States to China. He is quite familiar
with the condition of China. He regards that during these years,The
Biggest Change in China is Opening
Between present and
70's in China, the difference, which leaves the deepest impression
to people, is China's opening.
Nowadays, there is
much more individual freedom than ever In China, compared with
20 years ago when I was a director of the liaison office to China.
This is an obvious fact.
China is more prosperous
now. This is also a fact. People have better living as well. Of
course, it doesn’t mean all the people, but most of the people
have better lives.
But, the deep going
difference is still opening. Just imagine, return to the middle
of 70's, it is impossible for you and me to have this talk. But
now, we can talk like this. In my opinion, this opening is good
to China. In the meantime, this is also good to the relationship
between China and the United States.
